ANOTHER PERSON IS MOVING INTO HOUSING ON MONDAY!

Gary, a 69-year old wonderful man who has been struggling with homelessness, will be moving into a permanent room at the YMCA on Monday! Such a celebration around our table at Tim's House because we have been praying and I know it is God's favor that yet another person was able to get into a place that has a year-long wait. Thank you for all of your donations, because although he will be able to pay his own low monthly rent with his small social security check, he would not have been able to take care of a few other fees necessary to get in. It's often the security deposit that can get in the way of people stepping into permanent housing, and I am so grateful that we can take care of that thanks to God's provisions through you. We will also be getting him an X-long mattress (since he is 6'7" and he said he hasn't had a good night sleep in years) as well as our typical Welcome Home package of sheets, pillows, comforter, and towels from Walmart. Gary is so grateful and excited and was shaking his head yesterday saying, "I cannot believe this and I know it is the Lord"!

GOD USED A DONATED BIBLE TO SPEAK TO ONE OF OUR FRIENDS

I just never stop being amazed by the unexpected and unique ways God shows up when we cry out to Him!

"J" has been struggling over the past few weeks with depression after receiving the news of a re-occurrence of cancer. First thing yesterday morning at Tim's House, he asked, "Can we talk?" He said, "I think God is trying to speak to me, and wondering what you think". He went onto say that he had been praying the night before and that morning and asking God to help Him and asking God if He could let him know that God was there. Although he is always at our table for our Bible Study and sharing time, he's been honest about not being sure of his faith. He said he prayed the night before and asked Jesus to come into His life and he said he was just really pouring his heart out to God about his cancer and other problems. He said a few things happened the night before that left him wondering, "Is this you, God, speaking to me?"

He then then showed me a Bible that he had just picked up from our donation table first thing on Friday morning, and had it opened to a page with yellow highlights. J said, "Look at this. I just opened this Bible right to this page, and look! These verses that are highlighted are exactly what I was talking to God about last night, and this is the only page in this Bible with yellow highlights!" I was in awe because just 30 minutes earlier I brought in this donated Bible and other books that were donated by the family of a wonderful friend of Timothy's Ministry who recently went to Heaven, Jack Burgman; and I realized that it was Jack who had highlighted those verses maybe years ago that God was using in this moment for J. J smiled and said, "I think God is speaking to me. What do you think".(Of course, I said YES!) He then asked me if I would pray with him and had the biggest smile on his face as he said, "I know Jesus is right here in my heart and I don't have to worry any more about cancer or other problems or be depressed." And then we prayed!
