Our Worship Service and Luncheon in Chicago yesterday was awesome with 50 - 60 people! Our friends from Timothy's Ministry loved this beautiful time together and were so grateful for the food, bus passes, and McDonald's cards (thank you to St. Juliana's for donating McDonald's cards!). Honestly, people begin to clap and are beyond grateful when I announce that we have gift cards. After I passed out the cards to each person in the room, a man who was once homeless but now lives in a room, came to me holding his McDonald's card and said, "There are people here who need this more than me. Can you give this to someone else?" A fast food gift card means so much to people including the peace of mind in having this card in their back pocket just in case a person can't find food on a future day or needs to go inside somewhere to rest and get out of the elements, and this man was willing to give his away to someone who he said, 'needed it more', even though there are days that he might not be sure where he will get food. This is God's heart in people and I love the people at Tim's House!
